June 6th Make your First Friday in Owego a cultural journey! Begin with a cocktail at The Belva Lockwood Inn Bar, then immerse yourself in IF YOU KEEP A STAR IN A CAGE (opening June 6th, 8-10 PM at Cloud Croft Studios). Presented by Tioga Arts Council, this captivating exhibition by Jess Petrylak explores fame, control, and identity in the digital age through a blend of visual art, live performance, poetry, and music. Petrylak, a multi-disciplinary artist using found objects and tactile materials, offers a unique and empathetic lens on pop culture’s most scrutinized figures.
Strawberry Festival: June 20-21st
Get ready for a berry exciting weekend! The 43rd Annual Strawberry Festival in Downtown Owego kicks off Friday, June 20th, with a Block Party starting at 5:00 PM. Don’t miss the delicious strawberry-themed cocktails at The Belva Lockwood Inn Bar from 5:00-7:00 PM, followed by a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30 PM! The celebration continues Saturday, June 21st, with a parade at 9:30 AM and a fantastic festival until 5:00 PM featuring local artisans, live bands, special entertainment, and more!
