Whether you want to host an intimate wedding, gather your colleagues for an inspiring and productive retreat, or bring together friends and family, reserving our Inn is the best way to experience Owego. The possibilities are endless for a memorable gathering of your own.
Let’s discuss your vision for your private event! We will assist with all of your planning, coordination and catering needs.

Owego will host one of the most extraordinary American railroad moments of the decade this June. The Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 — the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, weighing 1.2 million pounds and stretching 133 feet — will make a brief stop in Owego on Friday, June 12, as part of its “250 Years of American Independence and Innovation” coast-to-coast tour celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. The current expected arrival is around 10:40 a.m. (likely at the historic train station on South Depot Street, with final details still being announced by Union Pacific).
The Belva Lockwood Inn is the perfect base for the visit. We’re a short walk from downtown Owego and minutes from the historic depot area, ideally located for railroad enthusiasts traveling from across the Northeast and beyond to witness Big Boy in person.
The Strawberry Festival is Owego’s signature summer celebration — a three-day takeover of the village featuring craft and food vendors, live entertainment, the famous Strawberry Festival Parade, the Rock & Run 5K, and a wine and beer tent overlooking the Susquehanna. It’s the weekend Owego shows off, and tens of thousands of visitors come to be part of it.
The Belva Lockwood bar will be open Friday, June 19, from 5–7 p.m. Stop in for a drink between events.
